Just a minor point, but where there objections to the ‘Romleighs’ development? I’m old enough to remember horses being kept in those fields and Tescos being a brewey depot!

I have noticed that since the bulk of hospital has moved the traffic is much reduced in Gubbins Lane, certainly around 8:00am, there is regularly only around a dozen cars queuing at the A12 traffic lights.
I would suggest that any complaint based on ‘increased traffic’ will not hold water as the ‘powers that be’ will say that the level will only go back to what was the ‘norm’ a few years ago?

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100%, but that’s just my IMHO, which could be wrong.
p.s. You have a very good template for your blog. Where did you find it?

I am disgusted to hear about this plan to build 800 dwellings in Harold Wood. It was bad enough when I found out that just housing was going to be built and now dwellings!! I have lived in Harold Wood all my life and am now 27 and recently moved out of my parents and brought a house on the estate near to tescos with my boyfriend. Our house would actually be backing onto this proposed eyesore and rediculous plan so as you can appreciate I am slightly concerned and very disappointed to hear this. I am also very dissapointed and some what surprised that not one person on my estate knew about this plan or were handed the leaflets. Surely you would think with us all being the closest to the proposed development we should be the first to know and the people who would definitely protest!
Like everyone has mentioned in their comments have they not thought about all the different issues facilities, schooling, how the doctors/dentists would cope. Myself and my boyfriend both commute to London every day and do not see how the train service from Harold Wood will cope with the extra people. It already struggles. Let alone the traffic problems we already have in Harold Wood. It took me over half an hour last Sunday morning to get from the traffic lights at the end of Harold Wood to Whitelands Way just due to high traffic. Gubbins Lane is always gridlocked on my walk home from the station in the evening as it is.
Obviously these people are just thinking of their wallets and not considering how this would completely spoil the village feel we have in Harold Wood. I am sure that people will certainly be putting up a fight to have this plan rejected. I cannot beleive it has even been considered.
This has to be stopped.
